We spent most of February at my grandmother’s house helping her with cleaning up her yard and a project she has wanted for many years: a raised bed garden. My grandparents moved to Florida from Maine right after retirement, and my grandfather passed away within a year from a surgery complication. So my grandmother had to go back to work and figure out life on her own. She worked in education for over 40 years (mostly in special Ed) and gave so much to her students. It is a privilege to be able to spend time giving back to her. Our goal with seRV is always to help and support the communities we are connecting with in our travels. Sometimes those people might be our own family members. I challenge all of us to look for ways to seRV our families, immediate and extended, this week. Being a servant is a heart stance and when it becomes our desire in the little daily things with our spouses and kids, it becomes so engrained into the fabric of who we are that it overflows everywhere we go. I need this reminder regularly, so I wanted to encourage all of you in that as well! #servwithpurpose
