Needing some help. I have a 2018 Grand Design Imagine (built and purchased in 2017) and my large slide with the Schwintek slide out is acting up. The last 2 seasons the front of the slide (side of slide towards front of camper) would not move when trying to slide the slide out for the first time each season. The first time it only took a few tries of in and out before it worked fine. Last year it took a little more messing with and then it went out fine. After each time the slide would work flawlessly all season. This year I had to take my camper to the dealer for repairs due to a blow out we had last year. The slide did the same thing and I did not have time to try and get it moving before taking it in. I asked them to troubleshoot it while they had it. The result was it needed two new motors for a cost of $1300 parts and labor. I was shocked to hear that it needed 2 since only one side was acting up but since the trailer is 6 years old and they are the dealer maybe they know more then me lol. I had them do the repair, picked up the camper on our way to our first trip this year and when we got to the campground I had problems. I did not test it at the dealer because I picked it up 20 minutes before the service department closed and I thought if there was an issue they would have noticed. When I went to put the slide out it went about 1-1/2’ to 2’ and the front of the slide stopped, the rear side kept going but I stopped it right away. Tried this several times and the same issue. I had to pull on the side that was stuck while my wife pressed the button to get it all the way out. When we got home from the trip it was to the point of both sides only moving 4-6” before stopping. I had to keep pressing in and out to get it out far enough to do what I needed to. Same for bringing it in. Took it back to my dealer and now I am being told it needs two new columns for another $2200. Any gurus here or someone from lippert that can help me out and maybe tell me some they are missing? Sorry for the long winded post and tia for any info!
