We bought a Thetford Smart Tote 2 Lx last year. Due to medical issues we did not get to use it. Fast forward to last week, we opened the sealed box it came in and one of the back wheels was off. So it was damaged right out of the box. We found the axel nut and hammered it back on. Good right?? Wrong! We used it to go to the dump station and the first time was fine. When we took it the second time the axel nut came off and the wheel came off! We had dumped the black tank this time š. We did not find the nut so I used about 10 bandaids to keep the wheel on until we got to the dump station. We dumped the tote and put it in the back of the truck to go back to our camp site. I called Thetford and they were less than helpful. I was told to try to find one online because they donāt sell to consumers and they donāt have replacement parts. Basically ti bad for you, we donāt support our products even if they were damaged out of the box. Yes I take partial blame since we didnāt open it up for a year, but sorry cancer treatments were more important ti us. I will make it my mission to never buy anything made by Thetford in the future. What a difference between the customer service between Lippert and Thetford.
