Sorry this took so long but work has a way of getting in the way! We were selected to test Lipperts ABS system for retrofit on trailers that just had regular brakes. In May we dropped the trailer off around 10am and picked up the next day with the ABS system along with all new axles and springs installed. On the way north to Indiana through Louisville we hit a severe thunderstorm. It was mid morning, sky was dark, hard train and strong winds, making it so fun to pull a 45ft toy hauler through traffic, hoping each time some one pulled in front of me I could stop in time. I thought that would have been a great time to have abs brakes keeping the trailer behind me. As I left with the trailer heading home, doing as I was told to burnish the brakes. I was doing such a good job that a car pulled into the on coming lane to tell me the trailer was on fire. I was very pleased with how much better the brakes felt than original. I never thought the self adjusting brakes ever adjusted. As our traveling luck would have it, another bad storm crossed paths with us, strong cross wind, hard rain and plenty of people stopping on the highway. This time I was equipped to handle the storm. More stopping power and sure footing. Also the system connected to the one control app to tell me that we’ve traveled 646 miles. I understand there’s a anti sway update that’s coming that will work with the abs to help in those strong cross winds. I’m looking forward to that. We are looking forward to getting back on the road soon to learn more about the system. Could some one write me an excuse note for work, please! We do have a trip to Idaho in September so I will see how it goes then.
