First we want to start by saying Thank You to @Steve Cook and @Kirsten Cook for putting together such an amazing meet-up last week!!! After five years of traveling, this was actually our first time going to a meet-up, and we immediately noticed the difference from attending a rally. There isn’t a long list of scheduled events, seminars, or tours. The focus is simply on camping together. Sure Ludington MI is a great location and having it at a fantastic park like Poncho’s Pond was awesome, but it was the group of roughly 40 RV families who showed up to camp together that made it an amazing time. This year, our focus has been about merging connections with experiences and taking advantage of the opportunities to come together with family, friends, and community. This meetup was exactly that! Over the four days spent together, time was left open for families to explore the local area, enjoy the campground amenities, or just relax. There was a potluck night with door prizes that were raffled off and time scheduled to give back to the community during a beach cleanup but it was more about coming together each evening to spend time around the campfire. Sharing stories, reconnecting with friends, meeting new friends, learning new games, a carnival themed night, and of course all the campfire snacks… like Uncle Ed’s famous grilled cheeses!  Finding community shifted our RV journey, and it’s time spent reconnecting with friends and the opportunity to build new friendships on the road like this along the way that fills our hearts. It’s been about being open to these moments and intentional about the opportunities we have to share life together with others. Have you been to a camping meet-up like this before? If you haven’t, we would highly encourage you to plan getting out to one of these events!
